Mamá y hijo working together to bring Utah the sazón it needs. Nydia Carol Peña Rivera grew up in the small town of Santurce, PR, and in her late teens found herself in Provo, UT with nothing but a dream. Soon after meeting the father of her children, she had her son, Estevan Adolfo Reyes Peña, who grew up in Orem, Utah but was raised to love his Latino ethnicity and background. Now, 30 years later, together they find themselves wanting to bring their love and passion for Puerto Rico to Utah.
The name Sazón comes from the life Latinos bring wherever they go. It's the seasoning, the loud, the dance, the rhythm, but most importantly the hardships we face as POC's. Sazón is finding the perseverance in a world that is actively working against us. Nuestro sol es Taíno. That is what we bring to SLC and Utah.
